Terms of Use

Version 4, October 2026. Last updated: 9 October 2026

These are the terms the Kepler apps ask you to accept before you start, on phones and TVs alike. How the apps handle your data is set out in full in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

1. What Kepler is

Kepler is a media player. It plays playlists, links and logins that you add yourself. It does not provide, host, sell, distribute or recommend any channels, films, series or other content, and it gives access to none. It is not affiliated with any content provider.

2. Your content and your responsibility

You are solely responsible for everything you add to Kepler and everything you watch with it. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions to access that content, and that you use Kepler in line with the laws that apply where you live.

3. No endorsement

Kepler does not check, control, monitor or endorse any playlist, provider, stream or guide, and has no relationship with any of them. Anything to do with a subscription or its content is between you and your provider.

4 to 6. Your data

Kepler has no account, no ads and no analytics, and what you add stays on your own devices. What it stores, what it connects to and why, and the few ways data can leave your device are summarised in sections 4 to 6 of the terms in the apps and set out in full in the Privacy Policy.

7. Kepler Pro and the free trial

Kepler is free with one playlist. Kepler Pro adds the features marked Pro in the app.

The free trial starts when your first playlist has finished loading and turns every Pro feature on for 30 days, with no payment method and no account. To allow one trial per device, Kepler keeps a small record with Google's Firebase service on its developer's behalf: a salted one-way hash of the device's Android ID and the date the trial started. The record is deleted about 400 days after the device was last seen. Google Play Integrity confirms that the request comes from Kepler as installed from Google Play.

Kepler Pro is sold through Google Play, as a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, at the prices Google Play shows. It pays for the player's features only, never for channels, content or a subscription to any provider. The yearly subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in Google Play; after cancelling, Pro stays on until the end of the year you paid for. Payments, refunds and cancellations are handled by Google Play under its own terms. A purchase belongs to the Google account that made it and covers up to 10 Android devices signed in with that account, the one it was bought on included.

Each purchase has a list of the devices using it, which Kepler keeps with Google's Firebase service on its developer's behalf so that the limit holds: a salted one-way hash of the purchase and, for each device, a salted one-way hash of its Android ID, the name it has in Android's settings, its maker and model, whether it is a phone, tablet or TV, and when it was added and when it last checked in; for a device that was removed, only that hash and the date. Every device signed in with the purchase's Google account can see the list in Settings, Kepler Pro, and remove a device from it, which frees its place at once; a place is never freed by itself. A reinstall keeps a device's place, and after a factory reset it counts as a new device. The list is deleted about 400 days after it last changed. Google Play Integrity confirms that each request comes from Kepler as installed from Google Play.

To know whether you have Pro, Kepler uses RevenueCat, a payment service working for its developer. RevenueCat receives an anonymous id that Kepler creates (never your name or email address), the purchases Google Play reports for it, and your internet address. After a purchase, RevenueCat keeps that anonymous id in Google's Block Store on your device, so the purchase is found again after a reinstall; it is copied to your Google account only if Google backup is on.

When the trial ends, or a subscription lapses or is refunded, the Pro features stop. What you made with them (favourites, your own groups and hidden groups, extra playlists, reminders, recording bookings, recordings and downloads) is kept, not deleted, and comes back when Pro does.

8. Licence

You may use Kepler on devices you own or control. You may not resell, redistribute, modify or reverse engineer it. Open-source components included in Kepler are covered by their own licences (listed in each app's open-source licences and on the open source page), and where those licences give you rights, these terms do not limit them.

9. No warranty

Kepler and this website are provided as is, without warranties of any kind, including that the apps will work with any particular playlist or provider. Playback depends on your provider's servers, which we do not control.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the developer of Kepler is not liable for any content you access with it, or for any loss or damage arising from your use of it.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may change. When they change materially, the apps ask you to accept them again before you continue.
